Halloween Trick or Treat Sack

Make it Mine™ Iron on letters, totes and even pillowcases are in the stores now, so picking up what you need in one trip is so easy!  For your Tricks & Treats, here are a couple of fun ideas for the big night!

We love the nostalgia of heading out Halloween night with a pillowcase. We used our Make it Mine™ letters to make a big sack for treats, it made up quickly, too.  Last year it was a thrill to be in a neighborhood that participated in a huge festival. Hundreds of kids were out in full costume and yes, some were carrying pillowcases!

Our Halloween Tote will also hold lots of treats at 13 in x 16 in.  Make it Mine™ totes are ready made, sold in white, gray quatrefoil and pink dot at Michael’s.  We added the Iron-on Fabric letters and mummy face for simple inspiration.  Adding your own mixed media techniques with paints and trims will turn it into an art tote you can carry now to show your Halloween spirit.  Be creative!

Inspired? Here’s how we used the Iron-on Letters

The fabric letters already have the fusible on, so sharp scissors and a little time while Beetlejuice (or something scarier?) is on TV is all you need to cut out the letters.  Iron for 30 seconds and sew to secure for permanency. A few sheets of Iron on Fabric 8 in x 9 in pieces were used for the lovely bats and mummy smile.  Here’s some of the black & white Make it Mine products – just imagine all of the creative possibilities!

The letters come in five different designs, upper and lower case.  Using words in art and decorating is everywhere.  To have these available in fabric is perfect for mixed media, even quilts and wearables.  With 200 lower case letters and symbols, personalizing is going to be easy!
